Truth be told, since the first week kind of exists in a weird place in each calendar, I combined Week 1 – Monochromatic Isolation with this week. However, the concept itself was something, that I learned at least on a theoretical level very early on in my photography journey. Just as a quick definition reminder: Negative space is everything, that is not the subject or in close proximity to the subject.
By comparison to last week, this challenge felt way easier. For some reason I feel, that negative space is easy to implement into each picture, without loosing context. In a lot of cases, it seems to be even necessary to fulfill the visual intent and not overload the picture.

From editing perspective, the pictures are not too exiting, but communicate a very clear idea of negative space. The question is, if the negative space does help the picture or not.
In these particular cases I’d say, that the negative space is merely a technical demonstration and does not carry any other artistic intent or visual story. I attribute it to the fact, that I did combine essential two challenges into one.
However, next week I’ll put some more focus on the negative space as well and we’ll see how these pictures turn out.
